Here is the news for the week:
Pitch maintainance: We are looking for volunteers to keep our great pitch in the condition it is in this weekend as there will be no training on it due to Bank holiday. We are getting ready to play matches soon and need to keep the grass and weeds in control plus general tidying of around the clubhouse and pitch. If able to help on Saturday or Sunday morning for an hour, please let your coach know what time suits you, who in turn will contact Peter who is organising this. Thanks for your help keeping our club looking great. Thanks again Peter.
Membership deadline was 31st May. See below from our Registrar; “The deadline for GAA registration is next Monday, the 31st of May. Unfortunately, I am not able to register players until membership has been received. The deadline of the 31st has been set by the GAA and so we are under pressure to get the membership in as soon as possible. This can now be paid at below link. https://www.starsoferin.ie/2021-membership-plans/
Training: As above in Pitch Maintenance, there is no training this weekend. It will resume next week as usual.
NB: It is important that all players must wear mouthguards for all training sessions and matches. I would recommend having spares in the car, that what I do as my kids are always forgetting them plus their water. Please ensure when taking water breaks, that you dont take as long as my Roscommon ladies did as per link below.https://www.balls.ie/gaa/down-roscommon-ladies-football-bizarre-goal-471326.
How that goal was allowed is beyond me. For those that have old gear, please try and recycle helmets and hurleys to younger players in the club. You can either donate or sell.

Local News of interest:From Macella Teo in Sandyford village. We are filming an RTE2 show called “Keep it Up” about teenage girls and the benefits of sport. We are looking for chatty girls aged 12-14 years from Sandyford to take part in a sports camp this summer. Ideally we are interested in hearing from “non sporty” girls or those who may have lost interest in sport. The show will be presented by Emer O’Neill, PE teacher from the RTE Home schooling and will be lots of fun. Please get in touch by emailing email@example.com or call 087 6963576
Thanks from all at Stars
Have a great week, Clive
