Weekly news – 19th July 2021

Hi all

Here is the news for the week:It took me ages to write this week’s one due to the injury curse of the U12 boys hitting the coaches as well as I broke my thumb at training Thursday evening. Off all of the luck.

What a great change in the weather, hopefully those doing stay-cation in Ireland were / are holidays around now/last week.We had a few cancellations resulting in forfeits to the like of the U12 and U13 boys due to the opposition being unable to fulfill the fixtures due to players being away on holidays.A big thank you to all coaches and players for moving games to dates that suited and getting them played.  We have another busy week as usual with our great club.

U14 Girls update:Our u14 girls team had a great win over a strong Erin’s Isle team last Sunday week playing away from home. This secured them a top place finish in their group and also a camogie league final for the girls. They will now play the Final in Glencullen on the 25 July at 1:30pm. Stars thankfully won the toss for home advantage. Their opponents in the final will be Erin Go Bragh. Best of luck to the u14 team. It would be great to get as many supporters, young and old up to see this great team.

Football The u14 girls also played their last group stage match in the football league on Sunday 18 July, having already recorded wins over Cuala B and St John’s Ballinteer. They outclassed Kilmacud Crokes and have finished top spot in their group. Other news: Dublin Development SquadOur three girls currently doing really well at the Dublin Development Squad are Leah Campbell, Sarah Sherman and Áine Kavanagh. Our u14 girls team and coaches are extremely proud of them and wish them the very best in their trials. We will have more girls to be put forward in up and coming trials for the Dublin Development Squad. Thanks Seán for this update.

Under 15 girls are playing league semi final tonight in Glencullen, 7:00 throw in.All support welcome

Thursdays Juvenile training: Will finish this Thursday, the 22nd July. God damn you Brian for extending it 😂😂. No more golf for me for next few weeks. We will take a month off then in line with the break in matches and resume week beginning 23rd August when we will have 2 slots a week in Stepaside Monday at 6pm and Thursday at 7pm. Each team will be given 1 all weather slot which will be allocated in course. This is to facilitate teams that will no longer be able to train in Ballyogan when the evenings close in. These dual bookings will be in place until the end of the season. Thanks Brian F and Peter for organising this.
