Weekly news 15th September

Hi all,
Another great weekend at our great club. Lots of games, fun and exercise for us all.

U8 first competitive game update:

Well done to our U8 girls (born 2012 & 2013) for displaying great teamwork and attacking play during their 1st home game on Sunday.  A great turn out with 19 Stars players across 2 teams playing St Marys.  Big thank you to the adults who came up early to help with the pitch set up and to give the players time for a few games of bulldog and a catch up with each other before throw-in. Next weekend we are on home turf again for a camogie blitz against both Bray Emmets and St Anne’s.  Camogie training on Thursday, 7-8 on Stepaside All Weather pitch.  If any of the older age groups have outgrown their helmet and hurl we have some enthusiastic girls who will take them off you! Contact Mark 086 1706 109 or Siobhan on 086 070 7416.

Club shop: Thanks to Siobhan for having the club shop open again last weekend. It was great to be able to buy our club colours again. You can also buy Stars of Erin Car stickers.Just an FYI- Don’t let your 7 year old daughter stick on the back window :).  If you know my car, you will see it stuck in the middle of the back window.
The club shop is run by Gavin Mulvey, Sinead Roe, Siobhán Kilmurray and Sean Roe.
We all know that children grow out of their gear so fast and we thought we’d ease the burden on parents by organising a second hand gear sale. For this to work, we’re asking you to donate any of your old/unwanted (clean) Stars of Erin gear over the next few weeks. You can give them to Siobhan on Thursday nights or leave them in the club shop on Saturdays
and Sundays. We’ll have boxes in the shop labelled “Gear Sale” and will sort out what has been donated sanitise, wash and completed a sale list for all members. We’re looking for·         Stars of Erin gear
·         Football boots (must be in good condition)
·         Hurley’s
The plan is to sell all this gear at low prices in the shop before the end of September.  If you are missing some gear please email info@starsoferin.ie and we’ll see can we can assist you.

Covid Update:
It is fantastic to see our members return to play and see our pitch busy again after a very quiet few months. Each team has a Covid Supervisor assigned to them and they along with the team mentors will ensure that everything is being done to keep our members safe and healthy. We ask that you in turn follow all our guidelines and in doing so our members can continue to enjoy playing for the rest of this season and beyond. Unfortunately there are still no spectators allowed at matches or
training, except in the case of our juvenile players who are allowed one adult to accompany them. These adults must, along with all our players complete the online health questionnaire and confirm online before each session or match. This must be shown to your Covid supervisor. Please remember your social distance of 2m when on the sideline.

Emails:
Finally, can someone from each team check with all members they are getting the emails. We want to ensure everyone is kept up to date on all club news. All you have to do is ask them to forward their email address to above email address and I will set up.

Best of luck to the all teams playing this weekend.
