Weekly news 13th May 2021

Hi all,

Here is the news for the week:

Best wishes: We also want to wish Sarah Sherman, Aine Kavanagh and Leah Campbell the very best wishes with the U14 Dublin Camogie Development Squad tomorrow (Friday) evening. These are the first three players to go forward on behalf of our U14 team. There will be more of our players doing this in the coming weeks and months ahead.  Best wishes from the U14 Girls team and all of Stars of Erin

Training: Continues as normal this week. The Thursday booking in Stepaside all weather has been extended for the next four Thursdays up to and including 22nd July.We will take a month off then in line with the break in matches and resume week beginning 23rd August when we will have 2 slots a week in Stepaside Monday at 6pm and Thursday at 7pm. Each team will be given 1 all weather slot which will be allocated in course. This is to facilitate teams that will no longer be able to train in Ballyogan when the evenings close in. These dual bookings will be in place until the end of the season. Thanks Brian F and Peter for organising this.

Games: Best of luck to all the teams playing this weekend, again another busy weekend. As above, we have a lot of games on the pitch Saturday morning so appreciate if everyone can start on time, and therefore finish on time and be off the pitch for the next group. NB: It is important that all players must wear mouthguards for all training sessions and matches. I would recommend having spares in the car, that what I do as my kids are always forgetting them plus their water.

Award of the week: Goes to Gary who took ownership for his group and got the membership for all members paid and were the first team to be 100% paid. Thanks to all who have paid theirs.

Forecast 5 update: We had a 3 way tie for the month of June with Michael, AllannahK and Gavin Wear with an impressive 35 points. I finished in 7th place, my best finish so far. Best of luck to all for July which starts tomorrow.

Camps: Best of luck to all doing the Cul camp next week. Remember to follow all guidelines.  Our other three camps over the summer.Stars Camp 1 July 12th – 16th. 9.30-1.30. Stars camp 2 July  26th-30th  9.30-1.30. Stars camp 3 August 9th -13th 9.30-1.30.

Booking for the camps will only be accepted online via the clubforce link below and will be strictly capped at 100 per camp to ensure Public Health requirements can be fully complied with. Bookings can be made via this linkhttps://member.clubforce.com/memberships_cart_m.asp?LL_ID=1372&intMF_ID=8502#topp

Our Club shop: Will be closed this weekend with Siobhan away. We are looking for Club shop volunteers text/call siobhan on 0860707416 or email info@starsoferin.ie.

Local News: Thanks to Kevin for letting me know about this, the Step inn has a burger called the Stars of Erin. Will definitely have to give it a try on my next visit.

New Members: RECRUIT, RECRUIT and RECRUIT are so key for our club. Can we all please promote the club in the coming weeks and let your group of friends / school WhatsApp groups that we are back training and playing matches. Please also like and share our great Social Media posts completed by Brian. There are lots of posts of different teams with their great results to date. Can all parents please try and recruit one new member each?

Thanks from all at Stars, Have a great week, Clive
